This work compares the drug addict to the artist. In both states, the truth is repeatedly manipulated or rejected. Miss Emma (also street-name for the psychoactive drug morphine) is a video, which functions itself to deny the truth. Text and imagery together signify various drug related terms and activities. Miss Emma also asserts families’ roles in farming or harvesting cultural structures that often perpetuate cyclical patterns to be repeated generation after generation.
